Lonely:

As my son is running around the house waving the dog’s toy and yelling “goo Monster, goo Monster”, it’s hard to imagine being ‘lonely’. But I’m lonely for some quiet. Lonely for spending the morning reading a good book. Lonely for drinking tea that’s hot. I’m also lonely for deep conversations, meaningful, life altering ones. I’m lonely for a bosom friend. I’m lonely for quiet in general. I’m lonely for a friend who knows me as well as, or better than, I do myself. Lonely for my college girl friends who I grew up with. I’m lonely for my cousins. I’m lonely for peace of mind. I’m really lonely for being able to write a post without a little one telling me/whining at me what the dog won’t do. I’m lonely for….calm. I’m really lonely for my patience and I’m totally lonely for my temper which by Friday at this time has vanished.

{this moment}

A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

This picture pretty much sums up my week…and I do want to pause, savor and remember that I AM a work in progress. Every day.
